ATTENTION LINCOLN PARK RESIDENTS The Office
of Emergency Management has recently completed the installation of the
"ALERT WARNING SIRENS". The sirens are used to notify the residents of
any serious weather emergencies (flooding, hurricanes, etc.). THE SIRENS
WILL NOT BE USED FOR SCHOOL CLOSINGS, (SNOW DAYS)
In the event of
weather related emergency, the sirens will be activated. Siren activation
should alert residents to monitor Channel 71 or their local weather station for
any weather related information.
THE SIREN SYSTEM SERVES TWO SEPARATE
FUNCTIONS:
- To warn the residents of any potential flooding,
the sirens will blast for SEVEN SECONDS, SEVEN TIMES.
- In the event there is flooding and residents need
to evacuate, the sirens will blast CONTINUOUSLY for at least 70 seconds. There
may be more than one cycle.
The Emergency Sirens are separate from the Fire
Sirens. The Emergency Sirens will be TESTED
MONTHLY. The test will be conducted on the LAST SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH at 5:00PM. Should
